We are ordinary people who share a common faith and hope in Christ Jesus (Titus 1:2–4). We enjoy being together and sharing in our mutual worship of God. We welcome you and assure you that you will be welcomed and encouraged by those you meet. You will not be singled out or put on the spot in any way.
In our quest to worship God, we are intent on offering Him worship that is “in spirit and truth” (John 4:23–24). All elements of our worship service will show concern for our heart (or spirit) being involved and doing what is authorized by the Scriptures (truth, John 17:17; 1 Peter 4:11).
WORSHIP SERVICES
Our worship services include congregational singing (songs selected by the song leader), prayers (led by men in the congregation, offering thanksgiving, and asking God’s blessing in all areas of life in accord with the Scripture), and the Lord’s Supper (with the simple elements prescribed by Jesus: “bread” and “fruit of the vine,” 1 Corinthians 11:23–29). We partake of this on the first day of the week, every week (Acts 20:7, just as the early disciples observed it).
An opportunity to give is also included in our Sunday service (1 Corinthians 16:1–2; 2 Corinthians 9:7) and it is for members; visitors are not expected to contribute in any monetary way.
A lesson will be presented by our preacher (or at times a guest speaker). His lesson will be Bible based; we accept no other teaching (2 Corinthians 2:17). As part of the audience you are encouraged to open your Bible (or use the one in the pew) and follow along, testing the lesson by what the Bible teaches (Acts 17:11–12; 1 Peter 4:11).
At the close of the sermon, the preacher (or guest speaker) may encourage those in attendance to respond to Christ. He may also offer opportunities for further study. If you are interested in either of these, please let any one of our members know!

MINISTER,
PAYTON STEVENS
Payton has been a Christian since 2012 and began preaching in 2015. Over the years, he has worked with congregations in Fairmont and Clarksburg, West Virginia, as well as in Belleville, Ohio. In 2024, he married his wonderful wife, Haley, and that same year began preaching at the Winding Road Church of Christ.
He has a deep love for teaching and encouraging others through God’s Word. He regularly works with the youth, leading discussions on topics such as salvation, what biblical faith looks like, and how to navigate a Christian life in a world with many competing views.
Outside of preaching, Payton enjoys spending time with his wife, family, and his brothers and sisters in Christ. His favorite book of the Bible is Hosea, as it powerfully illustrates God’s faithful love for His people—even when they fall short.
